Clif has been in private practice since 2004, when he joined the firm as associate. In 2009, he became the firm’s fourth partner. In 2013 upon a partner’s retirement, Clif, Mark Halbruner, and Craig Hatch formed Halbruner, Hatch, and Guise, LLP. Currently, they employ 5 attorneys and 7 support staff. The primary focus of the firm is estate and succession planning, but requires expertise in business law, contracts, and estate planning and administration.
Clif’s practice includes the following areas of law:
Business Planning – Clif advises clients on all aspects of business transactions, including the formation of new business entities, asset purchases and sales, leasing of real estate and other property interests, and employment matters.
Succession Planning – Clif assists business owners in protecting their businesses during times of uncertainty, such as death, dissolution, or retirement. This includes the development and implementation of a plan to sell or transfer the business to the successor owners to insure the continuity of the business.
Estate Planning – Clif develops and implements estate plans for individuals designed to preserve family wealth and insure the assets pass in the appropriate manner. This includes the use of Trusts, Wills, Lifetime gift planning, Powers of Attorney, and Advance Healthcare Directives.
Real Estate – Clif represents clients in the acquisition, sale and leasing of commercial and industrial properties. The firm works through a local title agent to provide title insurance and closing services.
Corporate, Partnership and Individual Taxation – Clif provides advice of all aspects of taxation, including income, estate and inheritance taxation. Clif regularly represents clients before governmental and administrative bodies, including the Internal Revenue Service.
Intellectual Property – As a member of the Patent Bar, Clif counsels clients on matters of Patent, Trademark, Copyright and Trade Secrets.
Clif takes a personal, hands-on approach to client relationships. He regularly meets clients at their place of business which helps him better understand the client’s operations, business structure and ultimately their legal needs.

Personal Life:
Clif was born and raised in Adams County, Pennsylvania. He currently resides in Camp Hill, Pennsylvania with his wife, Jessica, also an attorney, and their two children. During his free time, Clif would rather be on the water than anywhere else.
