Monica L. Ugliuzza

Monica was admitted to practice law by the Pennsylvania Bar in 2015. She joined Halbruner, Hatch & Guise, LLP in 2016 and began the equine specific practice for the firm. Along with equine law, Monica focuses on estate planning and business planning.

Monica has blended over 20 years of experience in the equine industry with the fundamentals of contract and business law to assist clients in the transactional phases of all horse related business. Her equine knowledge spans across many breeds and riding disciplines, giving her a unique understanding of the legal issues and how to avoid future litigation.

Monica currently sees clients in the Camp Hill office and around the Commonwealth. She travels to horse farms and equine businesses throughout the state for in-stable and in-home appointments.

 

Monica’s practice includes the following areas of law:

Equine Law – Monica handles various types of transactions including sale and purchase contracts, breeding contracts, horse and farm leases, liability releases, and ownership agreements. She also advises clients in estate plans, business plans, and trademarks as they relate to equine specific needs.

Estate Planning – Monica advises clients in making choices regarding the transfer of property after death through the use of Wills, Trusts, Powers of Attorney, and Advance Healthcare Directives. She also enjoys working with clients who wish to set aside funds to ensure their animals are cared for and maintained in the event they are no longer able to do so themselves.

Business Planning and Succession Planning – Monica works with clients on the startup of new businesses and the reformation of existing businesses. She also assists clients in planning for the future of their businesses with specific preparation for events such as death, retirement, disability, and divorce.

Trademark – Monica works with clients in the beginning stage of acquiring trademarks and also in the renewal stages required to keep trademarks valid.

Personal Life:

Monica currently resides in Lemoyne, Pennsylvania with her husband, Adam, an architectural engineer, and their dog, Greta. In her free time, Monica plays violin, attends equestrian events and works on house remodeling.
