John H. McCullough
John has been practicing law since 2001, in both public service and private practice. His public service includes a two-year clerkship for the Honorable Timothy S. Searer, President Judge of the Court of Common Pleas of Mifflin County, and seven years as Assistant Public Defender for Mifflin County.
John also maintained his own solo law practice from 2006 to 2013. He has served as solicitor for various municipalities, including Townships and counties, Zoning Hearing Boards, and Children and Youth Services Agencies.
John joined Halbruner, Hatch & Guise, LLP, in 2013, where he represents clients in litigation matters.
John’s practice includes the following areas of law:
Civil litigation – John handles a wide range of cases, dealing with contract disputes, real estate issues, landlord/tenant matters on behalf of landlords, and employment issues on behalf of employers, and a wide variety of other issues.
Family Law – John works with clients on issues pertaining to child custody, child and spousal support, divorce and prenuptial and postnuptial agreements. He works with the clients to identify their goals and develop an understanding of how the family law system works, and to create a plan to achieve their goals in that system.
Criminal Defense – John defends clients against criminal charges in the various counties throughout central Pennsylvania. He has represented numerous clients in DUI defense, as well as successfully defending them against summary, misdemeanor and felony charges, including felonies of the first degree.
Municipal law – John has represented both municipalities and individuals in issues concerning enforcement and defense against ordinances and code enforcement. He has experience in zoning appeals, zoning enforcement appeals, tax assessment appeals and other areas.

John was born and raised in Mifflin County, Pennsylvania. He currently resides in Mechanicsburg, Pennsylvania, with his wife, Gretchen, and their two children.
